Rapes reported to police

Rape offences recorded by police per 100,000 people (latest year since 2015).

Police-recorded crime measures what gets reported and recorded, not how much crime happens. Rates depend on legal definitions, trust in police and recording rules, so countries with strong reporting can look worse than they are. This matters most for rape: Sweden and the UK record every act separately under broad legal definitions, while in many countries most rapes are never reported.
